This is to prevent your cat from swallowing a flea while grooming itself, and the eggs could reach the intestines causing them to contract cestodes.
For your environment, the most appropriate thing is to do a deep cleaning in your home since the larvae tend to hide in dark areas such as under rugs or in floor cracks. After cleaning, dispose of the bags where you placed the dirt to make everything more effective. Do not forget to wash all blankets, rugs, sofas, and beds at a temperature of at least 60 degrees.
